July 2013.  Agility Construction is pleased to announce that Clark Construction Group awarded Agility the turnkey framing package for the Fort Totten North project.   This property is at the intersection of South Dakota Avenue and Riggs Road in Washington, D.C., and features Wal-Mart at the ground level retail space with four stories of wood framed residential units above a concrete podium deck.  The structure contains 345 units and has two enclosed courtyards that provide tenants with a private secluded area.  The exterior façade is comprised primarily of masonry, hardi-panels, and resin panels.  Located in the Fort Totten neighborhood and only two blocks from the Fort Totten Metro, future residents will have the convenience of public transportation and shopping at their doorstep.


July 2013.  Agility Construction is pleased to announce that Clark Construction Group awarded Agility the turnkey framing package for the Dorchester House Addition located at 2480 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC.  This project features 117 new units in addition to an existing 395 unit main building.  The structures are separated by a three-hour fire separation wall, primarily wood framing, and a concrete foundation.  With below grade parking, the façade consists of metal panels, masonry, and aluminum windows. 


July 2013.  Agility Construction is pleased to announce that Clark Construction Group awarded Agility the turnkey framing package for Jefferson Square in Baltimore, Maryland.   The Jefferson Square Project is located at the corner of North Wolfe Street and East Fayette Street and features a 304 unit wood-framed multi-family mixed use structure in Washington Hill.  The exterior is comprised mainly of fiber cement and masonry. 

June 2012.  Agility Construction is pleased to announce that Bozzuto Construction awarded Agility the rough carpentry, interior doors and trim and exterior siding and trim for The
Flats 170 at Academy Yard Project in Odenton, Maryland. The project is located at 8305 Telegraph Road and features 369 units in seven (7) buildings with two (2) stand-alone garage buildings. The complex contains garden style apartments with both open and closed breezeways.  Situated just down the road from Fort Meade, the military is one of the targeted occupant groups.

June 2012.  Clark Builders Group LLC selected Agility Construction, LLC, to provide rough carpentry and exterior trim for the Kennedy Row project located in southeast DC.  The Kennedy Row Project is located at 1705-1729 East Capitol Street near RFK stadium and features 141 apartment units in a structure comprised primarily of concrete and wood. The exterior façade consists of masonry and hardi exterior.

June 2012.  Agility Construction, LLC, is pleased to announce that the American Property Construction Company awarded us the project for the Boys Town Youth Residential Care Home #5 Project in Northeast Washington, D.C.  The Boys Town Project is located at 4801 Sargent Road, NE and is approximately 8000 SF.  The structure is similar to a large single family home consisting of a wood framed structure with a façade comprised of wood siding and masonry.  This project is intended to serve as a residence for troubled families and children.

January 17, 2012.   Chris Breedlove, COO, has obtained two certifications adding to Agility Construction's capabilities.  One is the EPA Certified Renovator for lead safety for renovations, repairs and painting.  This certification is required for firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, schools and child-care facilities.  Agility has submitted the necessary paperwork to become an EPA Lead Safe Certified Firm.  Mr. Breedlove also completed the mandatory training and testing for Construction Quality Management for Contractors as put forth by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).  This certification allows Agility Construction to perform work for USACE and NAVFAC. 


January 11, 2012.  Agility Construction is expanding operations to support the broader Washington DC Metropolitan area.  We have obtained our registration in the State of Maryland and will obtain licensure needed from specific jurisdictions as the need arises.  We are also in the process of obtaining our Class A Contractors License in the State of Virginia. 

November 15, 2011.  Agility Construction supported ABC of Metro Washington's Community Service Committee's Thanksgiving Food Drive!  Our food was delivered by Chris Breedlove to the Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to help struggling families this holiday season.  We delivered 150 pounds of food including lots of baby food for the little ones!

September 1, 2011.  Agility Construction is please to announce that Chuck Olsen has joined our team.  Chuck comes to Agility with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry.   He has experience in custom homes and multi-family construction and will initially provide assistance on our Rhode Island Station project.  We welcome Chuck's broad knowledge, eye for quality, management skills, and experience with scheduling challenges.

August 2011.  Stacie Shifflett and Chris Breedlove enrolled as members of ABC of Metro-Washington.  We look forward to actively participating in this important regional and national association.  To that end, Ms. Shifflett  volunteered to serve on the District of  Columbia Legislative Committee.  As a DDC business, we thought it was important be involved and remain current on legislative matters that impact the construction industry, both nationally and within the District.


National Green Builder Credential Program Certifies Knowledge of Today’s Green Building Practices

June 4, 2011 Agility Construction, LLC, is pleased to announce that Chris Breedlove is now certified by Green Advantage, Inc. Mr. Breedlove has successfully demonstrated a broad base of knowledge, comprehension, and ability to analyze green construction concepts, materials, and practices by passing the  COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL Green Advantage (GA) Exam.

Green Advantage is working with people like Chris Breedlove to realize its vision that buildings throughout the world are constructed in an environmentally sensitive manner that supports social and economic sustainability.  "This certification aligns with Agility's goal of being environmentally conscientious and becoming proactive within the construction community to build green.  Not only is this now mandatory in many local jurisdictions for new construction, but is the right thing to do."

The GA Exam®
gives special emphasis on the importance of understanding the role of construction personnel in improving the environmental and health attributes of the built environment. Divided into the following categories: Rational for Sustainability, Site and Land Use, Water Quality and Conservation, Atmospheric and Energy Impact, Material Selection, and Indoor Environmental Quality; the exam tests knowledge of general green building and field related best practices and applications.

As Agility Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Breedlove will put his GA Certification right to work, actively pursuing work in the District of Columbia where building green is very common.  He is ensuring that Agility Construction is providing their customers with a knowledgeable team that is familiar with green building practices and has this nationally respected credential to back it up.

January 3, 2011- Agility Construction was selected by Bozzuto as the carpentry contractor for the Rhode Island Station project.  This project turns an existing 8.5 acre surface parking lot into a transit oriented mixed use community with 274 apartments, 70,000 square feet of retail space and three parking garages near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station in the District of Columbia.  Agility Construction is providing rough carpentry, interior finish carpentry, windows and doors.  If you would like additional information about this project or our capabilities, please contact Chris Breedlove.
